Christmas Poem
DATE: 12/24/2008 22:23:46 / MOOD: feel like wheelin
Twas the night before Christmas, And all through the trails, Every Toyota was stranded, Their progress like snails. They had no shovels, No rope and no winch,No CB, no cell-phone, To get out of their pinch. When out from a mud pit, There arose such a clatter; All the 'wheelers came running To see what was the matter. I saw some poor Toyota All covered in crud; He had blown his motor trying to get free of the mud. As he stood there I noticed His glowing red face, And I knew in an instant He wanted out of this place. I glanced at his roof, It was all I could see; He pleaded for help from my winch and from me. So I sprang to the front Of my trusty old toy, Spooled out the winch cable, Said "Hook 'er up, boy!" He went for a swim In the watery hell, and I laughed as he turned brown, And started to smell. He hooked up the cable to his buried front hook, I put a coat on the line Like it says in the book. I winched him out quickly, A very fast session; And I charged him a C-note, To teach him a lesson. I then drove my Jeep through the same mud and same muck; No problem for me, 'Cause I had a REAL truck! I wound down my window as I drove out of sight, And smugly yelled…Next time; Stay home Christmas night!

Anyone In Tuckasee looking for a club?
DATE: 09/04/2008 01:34:26 / MOOD: feel like wheelin
For those who don't know Tuckasee in one of many names for the Kentucky/Tennessee border area. I have a club and site that seems to be dying, our primary problem is that many members are military and when we deploy, can't get to the site, or get transferred and lose touch. We are currently looking for members. I am also looking for someone to help moderate and run the site. We frequent Land Between the Lakes and plan to visit other local and distant areas. If you are interested, either drop me a comment or stop by http://z11.invisionfree.com/Locked_and_Loaded/index.php?act=idx   ; Happy trails View Entry
Time for an upgrade
DATE: 08/21/2008 02:41:29 / MOOD: feel like wheelin
Well, I'm stuck here in Afghanistan....again. Recently got word from the wife, saying the Jeep is making a clanking noise when moving. She said the sound seems to be coming from the rear center. I had her take it to a shop I trust, which is few and far between. It seems the rear ring and pinion are pretty chewed up. I must not have adjusted it quite right, as I just upgraded to 4.10s about a year ago. So I have been looking at upgrading the axles and then this happens. Granted a messed up ring and pinion doesn't justify an axle swap, however I am about to re-enlist and get a little chunk of bonus money. So I am about to order the Dana 44 w/ ARB air locker that has been in my wishlist forever. Plus I will be fixing some other things I have been putting off. Such as adding a 1" body lift, to replace the body bushings and bolts I lost after installing my rock sliders and not tightening them back down. Upgrading my power steering pump to take full advantage of my hydraulic winch and replacing my track bars with some Tera Flex upgraded ones. View Entry |
