my willys story and specs

Once upon a time, while traveling in southern Florida delivering a new Silverado, low and behold my eyes gazed upon a lonely Willys sitting in the customers front yard. After some sprited negotiations, I purchased this gleaming hulk of Detroit iron for $1.50. I loaded it up on my trailer and brought it home and proceded to restore it. After $5,000.00, what you see is what you get. Specs are: 1959 Willys truck, superior blue, 258 - 6 cylinder, turbo 400, quadratrack T case, danna 44's front and rear, 33" goodyear radials, 16 mpg, and last but not least, wife is not impressed,, but allows me to keep it.

New Jeep

I have found a Jeep to sacrifice to get mine running. I will be trading my 78 Chevy LUV to get a 72 CJ5. I will be using the 304, 3 speed tranny and transfer case to put in my 75 CJ5. I should be able to use everything and just change it over from one Jeep to the other.
This will be the first time I have taken on a job this big in the automotive world. Anyone have any tips or anything that would help me out on this big job? I plan on taking the fenders, hood, grill, and windshield off, to make sure nothing is in my way. Hopefully all goes as planned and I have myself a running Jeep before Christmas.

As much as I hate to do it I think I am going to finish putting my '84 CJ7 together and sell it. I have collected a LOT of good parts for this Jeep over the last few years but with the economy the way it is I think it's got to go...I was hoping to have this Jeep as my wheeling rig for '09 but it looks like someone else will be wheeling it...

Just wondering about where you guys and gals with CB's have mounted them in your Jeep. I have one right now thats on the passenger side of the shifter in the floorboard. In my inifinite wisdom, I neglected to consider having to slide the passenger seat forward to put my daughter into her car seat. GENIUS! It's a standard size Cobra, not a smaller Uniden or similar sized CB. Any suggestions for other places to mount it??? Thanks! Also, I pray that all you guys and your families have a great Thanksgiving!!

I was invited to go on a little run on Fri. Oct. 17th. In Welsville with JP magazine assoc. editor Pete Trasborg. Pete has been making a cross-country trip from California to NJ and collecting jeep (CJ8 Scrambler) parts along the way. Thru out his travels he has been making stops along the way taking pics of a few runs for the magazine. I had the privilege of having an open seat and Pete riding shotgun. Pictures will be in a future edition of JP. You can however go to JP’s web sight and read his blogs along the way.

Just wanted to let everyone know that DIRTYJEEPGIRLS.COM is online. I had paid someone to build the site...but I should have know better. A "non" Jeep enthusiast "can not" build a freaking Jeep site. I did a temporary "trail fix" to the site so everything works. You can log in to the forum to see some racier images, or post some of your own. If you have any problems with the forum please e-mail me @ info@dirtyjeepgirls.com I'll be adding more galleries to the free side of DJG's, and hundreds of full size images and video to the members area. Here are a few I shot last weekend! Hehe when I saw that decal...I had to get it. My wife hates it...but everyone laughs. Oh...and btw...the girl in my Jeep is not my wife...just a friend.

Small but quality crowd made it on this cool and windy day. Canned foods and dry goods were brought in for the Troy Salvation Army Food Bank. Riverside Chrsler Jeep was a wonderful host. Great food and nice people.
Went on a lite trail ride mid-afternoon through the beautiful countryside of Pike County.
Thanks again to Riverside Chrsler Jeep and Wendy Jay for a great time.
