As of Nov 30 I am Still waiting for my new owners cards! If I ever get them, I can get the jeep inspected! I'm getting board with 4-wheeling in and out of the garage!! After some sprited negotiations, I purchased this gleaming hulk of Detroit iron for $1.50. I loaded it up on my trailer and brought it home and proceded to restore it. After $5,000.00, what you see is what you get. Specs are: 1959 Willys truck, superior blue, 258 - 6 cylinder, turbo 400, quadratrack T case, danna 44's front and rear, 33" goodyear radials, 16 mpg, and last but not least, wife is not impressed,, but allows me to keep it. I will be trading my 78 Chevy LUV to get a 72 CJ5. I will be using the 304, 3 speed tranny and transfer case to put in my 75 CJ5. I should be able to use everything and just change it over from one Jeep to the other. This will be the first time I have taken on a job this big in the automotive world. Anyone have any tips or anything that would help me out on this big job? I plan on taking the fenders, hood, grill, and windshield off, to make sure nothing is in my way. Hopefully all goes as planned and I have myself a running Jeep before Christmas. I have one right now thats on the passenger side of the shifter in the floorboard. In my inifinite wisdom, I neglected to consider having to slide the passenger seat forward to put my daughter into her car seat. GENIUS! It's a standard size Cobra, not a smaller Uniden or similar sized CB. Any suggestions for other places to mount it??? Thanks! Canned foods and dry goods were brought in for the Troy Salvation Army Food Bank. Riverside Chrsler Jeep was a wonderful host. Great food and nice people.
