From early on I knew I loved Jeeps when I moved my girl freinds, freind's Jeep off the lawn one day. The next time I rode in another freinds Jeep, during a Jeep fun-rally. I was hooked....I didn't get my first Jeep untill after I joined the military. It was not my first 4x4 though. I owned a 1962 Dodge pickup when I was 17 and when I was 18 I bought a rusted power wagon 3/4 ton. I no sooner bought it and was tearing out the running gear to put into my 62. The first time I threw in the 4x lever, there was no turning back. I later sold it to get me something shorter wheelbase....I bought a 63 scout. It was smaller but drove like a "box". I then ended up buying a 72 dodge 2wd p/u and thats what I drove to Montana in when I went to my permanant duty station. It didn't take me long to locate a wrecking yard that had a 72 4x4 in it. The conversion process began again. This time it was not a direct bolt in as the 72 had A-arms and coils. I did it though....but will never do that again. Thats when my life was about to get better.....at the local dealership was a 76 CJ5. I traded in my Dodge, got me some payments and bought the most expensive lemon you'd ever imagine. It had a S/6 and a T-18. (at the time I didn't know what I had) $8000 dollars and 3 years later....I had a Jeep worth the original $3000 I paid for it. That was 22 years ago, I have owned since, not at one time, 76 cj5, 78 cj7, 78 cj5 golden eagle,74 cj5, 42 flatfender, 81 cj7 (project never made it on the road) 75 cj5 (same thing) 42 flat fender tough truck (still got it....but way on the back burner) my present 77 CJ5 my daughters YJ, my son (had) an 85 cherokee. I have owned about 6 different Jeep trucks, and one 78 Cherokee. I was in the Cascade County (Great Falls, Mt. )Jeep club for a few years where we wheeled and raced. I was also in the Sacramento Jeep club for a year or so. YOu may say Jeeps are in my blood...if you cut me, it will bleed Jeep blood. Well....thats enough....I can talk about me all day....or Jeeps for that matter....let's go wheelin!!!!!!!!!!!!
