Does anyone have a locking gas cap for their YJ? I just ordered one http://www.4wd.c om/productdetails.aspx?partID=13979 and it doesn't fit. The "neck" is too long and won't let the cap fit in flush. My stocker is like this one http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=0&plID=769& amp;partID=13980 which you can see is a lot shorter. Any suggestions?

I had a locking cap for my '89 (seal kept dry rotting - replaced it twice then gave up). The link to your stock cap didnt display the image anymore. But I'm guessing ours would be the same. My cap really didnt have much of a neck. I'll see if I can find a pic and post it later. I remember I got one of mine while I was in maryland. Think I just went to Auto Zone. They gave me the same one you ordered first and I had them go look again. Mine was almost like a raised metal disk with 2 notches. Anyway, check into that think it cost me like $20-$24. --------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, I just found your stock cap on 4wd.com. Yep, same as mine. The locking cap should look the same. Just try a local parts shop, if they come out with the wrong one, just make them look some more... taking a picture with you cant hurt, unless you still have your stock one.

http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=2&plID=769& amp;partID=13980 stock I've gone to local parts stores before and some of them don't even have my Jeep in their system. I guess an automatic 1988 with a 4.2L is a rarity. I'll check them out though. Thanks! --------------------------------------------------------------

give them mine then, just go test it in the parking lot before you leave. 1989 Wrangler 2.5L 5-speed (4WD- haha, I always laugh when they ask if it is - I always think what a dumb-ass) Part should be the same. --------------------------------------------------------------
