ok im installing a genuine gear quick lok into a dana 30 front axle on my 87 yj. ive run into a problem tho, the intermite shaft is held in place by a retaining clip. the instruction say to install the carrier assembly into the diff housing but theres a problem, if the ring gear is in place the locking pin can not be removed or installed cuz it hits the ring gear. HELP ME PLEASE |

You need to take the ring gear off the carrier. Yes, this means pull the axle shafts and yank the carrier. --------------------------------------------------------------
