I donot have my hardtop on now , but the lip on front of top screwa to top of windshield, this part is very thin so every timre you take your top of the hole gets to big, so you have to move over a little and make new place to put  screw in, You can just go to a little bigger sheet metal  screw, and it should work.

I ran my hardtop for a few years with no screws up front, nothing bad happened.  I did read on JU someone claimed they're hardtop got blown off on the highway because they didnt have any screws along the windshield.  Its not too hard, I just got lazy

i have had no screws on the front of my hard top for 4 years now and nothing has happened, don't worry about it, just make sure it set down good along the windshield and your side bolts are tight

The top got BLOWN OFF??? WOW !! They must have neglected to use any fasteners in it at all!! During the "Tacticle Aquisition" (shall we call it) of my hard top, there were no fasteners in it at all. Myself and the passenger had to keep an arm out the window holding onto the top as we drove. I held the roof with my left hand and steered with the right & worked the peddles. He shifted gears with his left hand and held his side of the roof with his right. WHEW-HEW!! FUN CITY!!

I also have driven mine during numerous winters with only the side bolts and no WS frame screws - no problems.

Side bolts will loosen from time to time & need to be checked and tightened every couple months at least
