I just bought my 1975 CJ5. It has no engine, tranny, or T-case. I want to put a V8 in it, but need more information on the procedure. I'm planning on putting a Chevy 350 in it. I've heard of it being done, and 350s seem to be easier to come by and more inexpensive to build. I would like to know if anyone has any links or web addresses that have the information I need, parts I need, or any conversion kits. I would also like to know of any transmissions and Transfer case that will go with the 350. Thanks in advance.

Good Jeep tech ed site -   www.muddybuddys.net   they are mostly a local group in ohio, but there forums are amazing. Lots of VERY knowledgeable people on there. You can sign up for their site, but you dont need to. go to the home page and like the link to the forums... and read for EVER.... TONS of good stuff in there. You can ask your question, or its possible someone alrady posted an answer in a similar question.  Good luck!!

And reference oh-cj5 post below, www.advanceadaptors.com is also good for some parts.

the best thing to do is buy and old chevy 4x4 truck like a blazer or or pick up that way you get the engine /trans  and all the brackets /pullys and even some exhaust to get you started  also with most trans to t case kits if you get one from a 4x4 you don't have to buy the the out put shaft for the trans witch will save you a lot of money on the kit . I done this swap 4 times so if you need any help email me I will walk you threw it  the only other thing is if you want stick or auto
