sorry as far as the the 360 being better then chevy 350 your out of you mind  and talking out of you ass  you can get 350 to do more the a 360 will ever do for have the money i don't see any one putting 360 in any thing other then a jeep cause it will bolt right up you don't see them in dragster or hot rods  or any customs full rock crawler  all small blocks or big block  all those guys can't be wrong the 360   just jeeps cause its the poor mans swap the 360 ranks right up there with the 2.2 lilter dodge  in the k car 

and would everyone get off chevy v8 swaps??they arent any good unless u rev the pee out of em...and ill take on any chevy with my amc 360..the torque in these engines are in the low rpm,unlike chevy,they gotta be over 1000 to be useful.dont get me wrong,there good engines.i have a chevy pickup w/350 4spd for towin,and the truck that donated its 360 engine will spank the shit out of it!!!!!

oh i also made my own driveshafts,dont vibrate either,,just got a dial indicator and went to it.welded the rear spiders up,some say this is hokie,but i swear i did at least 4 of em and they are all still alive.The onlything im gonna buy aftermarket someday is 5.39s,selectible in front and spool in rear..and the only reason im gettin the spool is cause my carriers wont take 539s

I couldnt agree more.I feel when you build your own jeep,you did just that.Mine i did my own 4 wheel disc conversion useing chevy truck parts master cyl. came from a chevy w/a huge bore,,axles came from a 79 cherokee and rear from scout.All custom hangers,bumpers all fabbed by me.Screw the aftermarket,if i can build it myself i do.I had a 6cyl,3spd,switched to amc 360 and t-18,made my own dual stick shifter,did my own wrangler spring swap,made my own winch mount and d-ring mounts,made my own onboard air useing a york compressor and my bumpers for tanks.built my own custom full roll cage,tied it to the frame.

some will say the factoy is the one who truly built it being that they made it from scartch parts and actually engineered a fit and finish product that meets all the standards to be legal and emission ready......

 as far as that being said I really don't think someone could come at me with this argument as everything that was built by Jeep except the motor, tranny, hood grille and about 4 ft of body and my rollbar b-pillar was made By JEEP, anymore as I got tired of their crappy engineering and lightweight stuff that is fine for normal on or off road use... But I'm just not normal lol , I have a tendency to break everything, so I took the liberty of redesigning nearly evry single part, engineering the suspension, only thing I didn't get into was the motor as with the T-case and gears I have in the axles I won't need a big fire breathing v-8 to get the ol girl motivated, It may not be the fastest thing alive but it'll go as fast as I NEED it to, if the time comes and I stroke the motor would that mean that I built the motor as well? or would that be a bolt on too, as most of the parts would bolt on or in but I had to do the research, and all the work to get everything done.  And as far as saying I built my Jeep I have no problem saying that cause other than the t-case and coilovers oh and heims.... I saved every penny I could by making all my own brackets truss's, tube adapter,s control arms the items that I had bought costed enuff how it was, theres other things that I will end up buying as well a fuel cell but I'll plumb it, harnesses but I'll mount them in, I can't sew a fa..wkin seatbelt lol, limit straps will prolly go on that list as well,  I'm not arguing nothing with nobody, I'm just saying I think that arguments like that would have limited validity, I could make mine pass emissions, and screw the standards  lol , I prolly won't as I have no need to, gotta love Ks for well I think thats the only reason

lol ok well to expand on this a little I guess, I agree in different ways with alotta things that have been said, I had a bolt on lift originally and I feel like I built it to where it was..... oh wait even though I had a bolt on lift kit I did built mine, and it's newer than most everyone thats posted in here I think, but I got mine out of a salvage yard... had been run up underneath a semi, I was fresh out of High school and My jeep was a year old, I built it back to stock then started to lift and better it from there, I still say I built it even when I was basiacally all bolt on, But  now no one can disput whether I have built mine or bought it..... lol hell I even have a good couple hundred pictures to prove it, after I had killed my jeep last time, pretty bad even... I cut it all kindsa apart, pulled the the drivetrain threw new axles in , custom fit everything to the huge f-in things cut the rear frame off made my own... extended it, custom made the rear 3-link, front double triangulated 4 link... I didn't make the coilovers or t-case , and I even been thru and rebuilt the motor a couple times already.... never bromke the tranny open no swaps, for the moment, We built our own tubing bender, I made the cage, xcept stock b-pillar, I'm making the dash... I maede the fenders grille hoops... am I forgetting anything think that pretty much makes a vehicle....

But as said before I agree even with bolt on kits sure you didn't build the kit that went on so what maybe your not a hardcore fab guy, but not every idiot can even figure out how to put a lift on correctly, I think that if you bought the stuff and put it on you built the Jeep you did things to your liking and in your own way, I still have things that I wish I could afford to buy because even though I can build most anything I could need, the people that have companies doing such can alotta time do alot neater cleaner work than I'm currently able to......

 But enuff banter about that... and to answer the Question again

 I BUILT MY JEEP!!!! any one that wants to look at and say different would deserve a swift kick to the nuts  lol as I have pretty well the last 2, hell even the last 10 years of my life in My Jeep
