Subject: Fold DOWN tailgate & SPARE Placement
Content: OK.. taking opinion poll here: I am going to change out my tailgate (prob use a cj gate)and add supports so I can have a fold DOWN gate instead of a swing OUT. My problem lies with placement of the spare tire.... Cant leave it on the gate, or rear bumper gets in the way & gate will not fold down. Dont wanna put it inside the rig.. not much space there as it is. Thought about mounting it on top about the roll bar: Wouldnt be able to put the soft top on it then.... OH I FORGOT, I DONT HAVE A SOFT TOP OR FRAME ANYMORE SINCE HUBBY DESTROYED IT IN THE WRECK. Ok, so I wouldnt be able to put the Hard top on it anymore.... But then roofless is not a bad thing, I could manage, I have before Only other thing I can think is to get one of those swing out tire mounts for the back, gate can still fold down. But then I wonder how much the tire holder will get in the way. Plus, if I get the tire holder that swings out, I think I might as well have the stardard swing out tailgate, which I am trying to get away from. Lemme hear your vote/ idea !!
