Hey that's awesome..glad you had a great time..yea I think my kayak is 12ft..it depends on the type of kayak with how stable they are(depends on what the hull is shaped like..Recreational kayaks have a flat hull were a kayak like mine has more of a v hull and there's edging around my kayak which also helps from keeping me tipping and allows you to turn better if you lean into it)..but in comparison they're alot more stable in the water than a canoe...they track better in the water and sit lower..so your less likely to dump it over....I have pics up of my kayak on my jeep....they even make set ups for kayaks to go fishing...lol..so many things i want to get for my kayak...I'm hooked..lol..anyways...hope your wkend is goin well.ttys

No Problem...but do a demo and you'll see exactly what I'm talkin' about...so much easier to manuver in a kayak..but canoes are fun too..I'm tryin' to get my job to pay for me to get certified as a kayak instructor as well...we'll see what happens...let me know how things go...ttys have a good wkend

Well....I have a wilderness system Tsunami 120 (Light Touring) and I love it!!!  I'm a Lifeguard and Canoe instructor and often use it at work so I can watch over the kids a while I'm in it..very comfortable..and easy to manuver...I use it on still water to slightly rougher...It's my first kayak..but as time goes by I'm sure I'll be gettin' more...would like to get a white water kayak when I'm experienced enough..but def shop around some stores bring out there kayaks for demo's and let you test them out...that's what i did..good luck on your search for a kayak..hope i was of help

Sounds like a great trip. We have taken a few 20 and 30 mile trips. The kids have only made a 4 mile so far. Hopefully when they get just a bit alder they can try this!
